Did We Just Really Witness The GOAT College Football Team?!?!?!?

It’s hard to argue with the facts folks:

By any metric or measure you have to say that the 2019-20 LSU Tigers are the most successful college football team of all-time. They played almost all the best teams in the country and beat them all. Can’t ask for anything more.

But are they the GREATEST???????

There’s a big difference between “successful” and “great”. Sure success normally begets greatness and usually vice versa as well but when the Lil’ Dogg thinks about truly Capital G Great teams this pup is talking about teams that are seared into your consciousness with legendary players and historic moments that you will never forget.

Will we really feel that way about these Tigers????

Think about the classic Miami Hurricanes teams of the 80s or even the legendary Oklahoma and USC teams of the 60s and 70s or the glory days of Notre Dame, you are talking about not just great players but all-time characters that have gone down in the annals of college football.

Now of course this is the part of the story when all the “No Fun” Johnny Spreadsheets out there like our own beloved Le Cap will start screaming about analytics and DVOA and all that other nerd stuff and believe you me this pup gets the fact that in a computer model the 2019 Bayou Bengals would beat the 1974 Oklahoma Sooners and their 185 lbs linemen 124-0. I know they would. I get it. I really do.

But will we love the memory of these championship Tigers?

It’s cliche to say but always true – only time will tell.

For now though we celebrate their absolute domination of this past College Football season.

Congrats to Coach O & The Boys, y’all deserve that ham sandwich.
