Presented completely without context it’s our 2018 Hi-Top Best of… winners.
So without further ado (tho honestly that wasn’t much ado in the first place)….Drumroll Please…….
Nun of the Year
Sister Jean Mania swept the Nation last March and will never be forgotten. Loyola of Chicago’s Head of SomethingorOther Sister Jean was front and center as the Loyola Men’s Basketball Team made an improbable run to the Final Four. Sure she never made a basket or took a charge but there is no doubt that Sister Jean and Sister Jean alone deserves full credit and recognition for this amazing accomplishment. Just ask her she’ll tell you all about it.
Food Item of the Year
Trader Joe’s Hot & Sweet Jalapeños are an absolute revelation. Put ’em in a sandwich. Put ’em on nachos. Put ’em on anything or just eat them straight out of the jar. The results are the same. Pure deliciousness.
Dunk of the Year
Hello Jayson Tatum. Goodbye LeBron James. Taco Jay had one helluva Rookie Year for the Boston Celtics and this playoff dunk on Bron Bron was the icing on the cake. This is the highlight that will live with Tatum forever. This is the clip that will start off the Career Retrospective video package ala Jordan dropping 63 on the World Champion Celtics in ’86. This was the culmination of the insanity that was the 2017-18 Boston Celtics season.
