US Open Day 3 – The Only One Winning is the Course

Three days down and no one is under par. And surprise surprise the players are NOT happy.

If Zach Johnson thinks the USGA has lost the golf course then I guess Phil Mickelson has just lost his damn mind:

Golf twitter reacted as expected to Mickelson’s lack of shall we say decorum.

And then of course there is always the backlash to the backlash:

In actual golf action, Dustin Johnson is still in the lead but shot a +7 and is now tied with Daniel Berger, Brooks Koepka and Tony Finau at +3 overall. Berger and Finau both shot 4 under in Round 3 so they certainly have the momentum heading into the Final Round.

Berger only has 2 career wins to his name and his best Major finish is 10th at 2016 Masters. Finau also has only 2 wins and two 10ths at Majors so you’re looking at two guys with not much final Sunday experience.

Koepka on the other hand is the reigning US Open champ.

In the end the winner will be whoever can keep it together out there on the course cuz Shinnecock is chewing up and spitting out guys left and right. Should be an interesting Fathers Day final indeed.
