Let’s start with this past weekend. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was a time of victory, it was a time of defeat. It was the epoch of celebration, it was the epoch of gloom.
That was the Bruins weekend home and home with the Chicago Blackhawks. On Saturday the B’s slapped the Hawks around to a 7-4 Win and finished their home stand with a very impressive 6-0 record. The game was highlighted by Brad Marchand’s flying high stick to the head of Anthony Duclair.
The next day in Chicago was a different story. Brad Marchand sat out the game due to an ‘upper body injury’ aka, they will try to kill him. The Bruins feel the the Hawks 3-1 snapping their winning streak and giving the Hawks something to cheer about in the otherwise terrible season.
Is it bad that is brings me joy to see the Blackhawks struggle? I guess this is how the rest of America feels whenever the Patriots lose.
So the Bruins are now in the midst of a road trip. Stop two was Raleigh, NC to take on the Hartford Whalers south…Carolina Hurricanes. (Fun Fact, The Hurricanes have been around longer than the Whalers were).
After giving him the night off in Chicago, the B’s went back to Tuukka Rask to man the net. Marchand ‘upper body injury’ mysteriously is ok and was back in the lineup.
This one was exciting. Bruins needed a 3rd period come back and David Pasternack hat trick to pull this one off. Truthfully, the Bruins are too good to fall behind the way they did. Heading into the playoffs next month they will face much better teams than the Canes. Good news is they were able to pull it together and get their heads out of their asses.
Take it away Jack and Brick…
Next stop is the Florida. First up are the Florida Panthers, who have been streaking lately. They are looking to grab that last wild card spot and have been on a role lately. This is the first meeting of the season between the two and they will play a total of 4 times against each other in the last 3 weeks of the season.
Will Bergeron ever come back? Will Mcavoy be back for playoffs? Will Marchand realize he is an elite players and stop being a dick on the ice? Will anyone even read this??? Only time will tell.
