Morgan vs Grace – An in-depth recap of the world’s most thrilling game of Tic-Tac-Toe (seriously)

During halftime of a Portland Trailblazers game two women competed in a combination Tic-Tac-Toe/basketball match. The results were an edge of the seat thrill ride:

Our two competitors are Morgan and Grace. Morgan is in the Blazers Jersey, Grace in Plaid.

Grace struggles early. You have to make a layup to get your X or O and there appears to be a seal on top of her basket. The ball just won’t go in.

Morgan goes middle square to start which is just a glaring sign that she’s a Tic-Tac-Toe amateur. Real Tac Heads know you always start in the corner. Plus in this contest it would make sense to save yourself a few steps and just go to the closest square.

Grace counters after finally making a bucket and we have ourselves a game.

And that’s when things start to go off the rails. First Grace puts her second piece in the upper corner leaving Morgan a wide open slot to make three in a row:

Then she has a second shot at the block and tries to put an X on top of an O. At this point I have to question if Grace has ever played Tic-Tac-Toe before? She seems to be lacking a basic fundamental grasp of the game mechanics. This is not high level strategy here. Block the other player:

And then it gets really wild. Morgan foregoes the win and instead puts her O in the corner and Grace STILL doesn’t go for the block. Do they know they are playing Tic-Tac-Toe? Do they understand 3 in a row wins? Has the giant oversized board completely warped their minds? These are the questions we need answered:

SOMEHOW IT GETS WORSE. Grace is literally standing on top of the open square. What are you doing Grace? What are doing??????

Grace puts her X on an O AGAIN!!!!

Grace. My dear dear Grace. You’re probably a very nice person but I hate you.

In an absolutely electric ending, Morgan slides in for the win!

Congratulations Morgan. You are only the second worst Tic-Tac-Toe player of All-Time.

Morgan vs Grace – an epic showdown that will live in the hearts of sports fans for years to come.
