NHL Turns 100

On November 26, 1917 the NHL’s first ever board of Governors meeting concluded in Montreal, officially giving birth to the league.

Exactly 100 years later to the day the Boston Bruins  had a 4 game winning streak snapped by the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 at the Boston Garden.

What do the two events have in common????? Absolutely nothing.

The Bruins went back to struggling #1 goalie Tuukka Rask, last night, who has had a 4 games rest. However, results were the same. Can’t blame Tuukka for every loss, just stating facts. He has only won 3 of his 13 games started this season.

Next game is Wednesday vs the #1 team in the league, Tampa bay Lightning. Lets hope Khudobin gets the nod.

Flash back to another tough Bruins loss at the hand of the Oilers. 1990 Stanley Cup finals.   Petr Klima, who hadn’t played a shift in since the 3rd period and was on the bench with his skates untied (true story) scores game winner in 3rd OT of Game 1.
